About Brechtje
Brechtje Meijer is a Dutch actor based in Amsterdam, NL. She speaks both English and Dutch fluently and is currently learning Spanish and Korean.
Her recent films include, ‘Where is my Libido?’ (2024), which won an award for Best Film and ‘Between My Shoulders’ (2025). She is also featured in online Dutch ads. With her relentless work ethic and a boundless creative spirit, she brings depth and authenticity to every role she embodies.
Brechtje has led projects in the Netherlands and is now eager to broaden her expertise on a global scale

Should’ve said ‘yes’ more often
Brechtje plays the leading role in a short film about consent – and receives a special mention from the jury on premiere night.
Nachtrood (nightred)
Brechtje plays a lesbian vampire. This short film screened at the ‘Femme Filth Festival’ in Los Angeles.
Da’s zo gefietst
Brechtje stars as a hockey girl in the government’s campaign.

Workshop monologues
Brechtje worked with Nilay Ceber in an extensive workshop about monologues.
TVA
Right now, Brechtje will continue to hone her skills at the TVA, with acclaimed actor Fjodor Jozefzoon as her mentor.
Theatre School Utrecht
Brechtje trained her extensive skillset here: from acting to performance, along with mime, singing and more.
Toneelmeester Amsterdam
Brechtje trained different acting techniques at this school: including the Meisner & Chubbuck Technique that was taught to her by actor Herman Bolton.
